That’s all you need to know.
What is Adidas Yeezy?
Adidas Yeezy is the collaboration between sportswear company Adidas and American rapper Kanye West.
West left Nike after working with the company for five years, he teamed up with Adidas in 2013 and in February 2015 their collaboration officially debuted.
Since then, Yeezys have had a tremendous impact on the fashion industry and it has become extremely difficult for customers to get their hands on them without paying extortionate prices through resellers.
What is Yeezy Day?
Yeezy Day is an annual two-day event hosted by Adidas that offers trainer enthusiasts the best opportunity to get their hands on a pair of Yeezys without having to go the thrift route.
On Yeezy Day, Adidas releases a range of new and sold-out styles from Yeezy’s, sold-out favorites, and occasionally introduces new silhouettes and colorways.
When is it?
This year Yeezy Day takes place on August 2nd and 3rd. Day one focuses on destocking in North America, with customers in Europe, Korea, Japan, and China being forced to wait until day two to try and get their hands on some Yeezys.
New styles are offered without much warning, with Yeezys being released throughout the two days.
Styles expected this year include the Yeezy Boost 350 Turtle Dove, Yeezy Foam Runner Vermillion, Yeezy 350 V2 Core Red, Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Core White, Yeezy 700 V3 Azeal, Yeezy 700 V1 Analog, Yeezy 350 V2 Sesame , Yeezy 700 V2 Static, Yeezy 350 V2 Hyperspace, Yeezy 700 V2 Tephra and many more.
What did Kanye West say about that?
In a direct message to Complex on Instagram, West called out Adidas for allegedly creating the Yeezy Day without his permission.
In a lengthy message, West wrote, “Adidas invented the Yeezy Day idea with my consent, then went and brought back older styles with my consent, picked colors and named them without my consent, went and hired people who did without my consent.” worked for me, stole my colourways without my consent, stole my styles and material approaches without my consent, hired a GM from Yeezy without my consent, took talent on the production side and distributed it across Adidas Originals without my consent.”
He added: “Even though they did a collaboration with Balenciaga, they completely slowed down the production of the shoes that Demna and I designed for Gap by trying to bully Gap even though my contract says I make casual shoes can do what I did when I was doing fashion shows.
“When I originally ordered Adidas to make more Yeezy slides, the GM lied to my face and said they didn’t have the capacity while Adidas copied my slides and made their own Yeezy slides.
“Yeezy is 68% of Adidas online sales. God intervenes.”
