It is the second time the singer has canceled a concert in the city of Yorkshire.

Slated to perform at the Scarborough Open Air Theater in 2021, it was pushed back to 11 August 2020 due to the pandemic and Capaldi wanted to focus on his second album.

But that too has now been cancelled.

The Scarborough Open Air Theater said: “We are sorry to inform you that Lewis Capaldi’s show at the Scarborough Open Air Theater will be canceled due to illness.

“We wish Lewis all the best and a speedy recovery and hope to welcome him back to the Open Air Theater in the future.”

Lewis Capaldi was left behind.

Footage on Twitter shows the stage being dismantled at the Scarborough Open Air Theater today (11 August) following the cancellation.

Fans took to social media to vent their frustration at the concert’s cancellation.

One person wrote: “I’ve waited 2 years to see Lewis Capaldi so the concert is canceled the night before I quit now.”

In a reply, one user added: “Bought 4 tickets and paid for 2 hotel rooms already with £165. with a non-refundable cancellation policy within 2 days of check-in date – smoking.”

One person said: “My mum has been waiting so long to see Lewis Capaldi and now the concert has been canceled (for understandable reasons) – she’s so upset.”

One fan, who had traveled hundreds of miles to see the concert, wrote: “I traveled all the way from Edinburgh to Scarborough for the Lewis Capaldi concert only to be told in less than 24 hours that it had been cancelled is… Eviscerated is an understatement… …..3 days away…is the bonus @LewisCapaldi We are absolutely devastated but I hope you recover soon.”
