Who will be the new army chief of Pakistan? Shahbaz Sharif, released on bail by the court, will appoint a new army chief.

Who will be the new army chief of Pakistan after Qamar Javed Bajwa? Qamar Javed Bajwa is no longer an army chief
Pakistani Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa

Qamar Javed Bajwa does not want an extension and yesterday Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that appointing a new army chief is the Prime Minister’s right and he will select the new commander of Pakistan in due course on the basis of merit. In response, Chaudhry Fawad said that this right belongs to the Prime Minister-elect. If the current government has such a dream, it will create chaos and instability in the country. Permanent appointments are the right of the elected government. This government does not have that right.

In response, the PPP’s Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar said that the fact that this appointment is already controversial is an irresponsible attempt by your Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party to push the country towards anarchy. It is true that appointing the army chief is the prime minister’s prerogative. If new elections are held before the army chief leaves, the new prime minister will appoint the new commander-in-chief. So this is tantamount to spreading chaos in the country. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which claims this government came to power through a conspiracy, has no right to appoint an army chief.

If you look at the last three years, the statement from the opposition and the Nawaz League, which was in opposition then and is now in government, was that the army should not interfere in politics and the army should challenge Pakistan. The people who defamed this institution will now appoint our country’s army chief.

It should be noted that when the time came to appoint a new army chief after former Prime Minister Imran Khan came to power, the PML-N and the opposition at the time were unwilling to give Imran Khan that right , but today they remember it Right. While there is a passion between the Pakistani armed forces and the people that can never be broken, the PML-N and the opposition at the time tried to break it and split the country, and today their government should hold elections as soon as possible. And the newly elected government should appoint the army chief.

Shouldn’t our civilian government do this by appointing the army chief through the army corps committee itself, so that the army doesn’t interfere in the political activities of the civilian government? Or to support their government, because everyone wants the then army chief to be with the then government, but then when those rulers use them for their political purposes and when they don’t support them. We’ve seen them called traitors in the past, which is what we’ve seen over the past three years.
