Three other people died Wednesday in a two-car collision in Indiana, home of Rep. Jackie Walorski.

Walorski, 58, drove an SUV with her publicist Emma Thomson and St. Joseph County Republican Party leader Zachery Potts.

At that time, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office, a car traveling the other direction crossed the median of Indiana State Road 19 and struck her head-on.

Thomson and Potts died in the collision, along with Edith Schmucker, the 56-year-old driver of the second vehicle.

Emma Thomson was a Catholic high school graduate of Bishop McCort

Emma Thomson, former associate of US Representative John Joyce, graduated from Bishop McCort Catholic High School in 2012 and worked for him. She was also 28 years old when she died.

Also, the congressman district was headed by Zachery Potts, and Thomson was its director of communications.

Before that, for more than 1.5 years, she managed the congress campaign of Dr. John Joyce. She was also his communications director for over two years.

From 2017 to 2019, Emma led communications for Michael C. Burgess. According to her LinkedIn profile, she has also worked as a digital communications assistant for the Democracy Fund.

Emma Thomson died Wednesday in the same horrific car crash that claimed the life of Jackie Walorski, an Indiana congresswoman.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office was called to a two-vehicle incident just after noon, according to the Associated Press.

When a car swerved left from the center lane and struck the SUV that Walorski was driving, it killed Walorski, 58, Thomson, and employee Zachery Potts, 27, of Mishawaka, Indiana.

The 55-year-old driver of the other vehicle was also killed in the incident, authorities said.

Did Emma Thomson have a husband?

It is not known if Emma Thomson had a husband when she died, leaving her family and parents heartbroken.

But until her tragic death on Wednesday, Jackie Walorski was still married to her husband Dean Swihart, a teacher in the Mishawaka area. After some time, in 1995, the couple got married.

Jackie and Dean moved to Romania as missionaries and started a non-profit organization to help feed and provide basic necessities to the country’s underprivileged children.

However, the two are believed to have lived in Jimtown, an unincorporated suburb west of Elkhart. His wife attended South Gate Church in South Bend, a sizable Assemblies of God congregation.

Emma grew up in a home with high educational standards. Linda Thomson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Johnstown Area Regional Industries, is her mother.
