channel 4‘s grueling reality competition The Bridge returns for a supersized second season in a new tropical locale.
The show was supposed to air in May but has been delayed. However, we expect it to hit our screens later this year.
So what is The Bridge about, where was the second series filmed and how to watch it?
Here’s what you need to know.
What is “The Bridge” about?
In The Bridge, viewers see a group of strangers who have just days to hand-build an 850-foot bridge in the ultimate test of teamwork and trust — and a huge prize fund at stake.
According to Channel 4, participants will be unaware of the epic challenge required to take home the cash.
What can viewers expect in season two?
The second series largely follows the same format as the first series, but there are some differences.
Two teams compete to be the first to get their hands on a life-changing jackpot – which has been doubled to £200,000 for the second series.
There are also more candidates in this second series; in the first there were 12, but in the new series there are 16.
So with twice the money at stake, viewers can expect twice the drama.
Contestants must put egos and differences aside to work together in their teams to face a race to build a bridge across 1,000 feet of water.
You only have 12 days to reach the money that lies on top of what is known as Fortune Rock.
The person who gets the money first must decide whether to share the money with their teammates or keep it for themselves.
Who presents the second season of The Bridge?
The show will once again be hosted by former Strictly Come Dancing contestant and TV host and personality AJ Odudu.
She said: “The opportunity to present The Bridge came about almost by accident. From the Strictly Ballroom I left for my next new adventure. Literally.
“It’s so exciting to host a show that promises to push the envelope and I know The Bridge will be bold, full of excitement and full of drama. Bring it on.”
Adventurer and explorer Aldo Kane joins the contenders, overseeing the challenges that will test their nerve and skill, and making sure no one hits the jackpot without giving their all.
He said: “For the last 25 years I’ve operated in some of the most extreme, remote and hostile places on earth, but this is one of the highest stakes missions I’ve ever worked on.
“For those involved in the challenge, if they can survive the pressure, this could be a truly life-changing experience for more reasons than just the prize money.
“The money won’t come easy though, I look forward to putting the team through its paces and stretching every fiber, from morale and emotions to basic campcraft and survival.”
Where is the new filming location?
The second season of The Bridge will be filmed on the paradise islands of Halong Bay in Vietnam.
This differs from the first series which was filmed in Wales.
When is The Bridge season 2 on TV?
The second series of the bridge was due to start on Channel 4 on Wednesday 11 May.
However, the show’s airing has been delayed and Channel 4 has not yet given any indication as to when the series will hit our screens now.
While we wait for the second series to air, all episodes of the first series can be watched All 4 now.
We’ll keep this article updated and let you know when Season 2 airs.
