A teenager has died at a fairground in Kent after a “serious incident”.

The fair will be held at Pencester Gardens in Dover with emergency services being called to the area in the early hours of Wednesday (3rd August).

The site was not yet open to the public, with attractions scheduled to open during the day on Wednesday.

A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 7.42am this morning to a serious incident at Pencester Gardens in Dover.

“We immediately dispatched a number of clinical resources to the scene, including our Hart team and paramedics. Unfortunately, however, one teenager was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

Kent Police confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious and a spokesman said: “Kent Police were called by South East Coast Ambulance Service after a teenager sustained injuries at a funfair in Pencester Gardens, Dover, at 7.45am on Wednesday had suffered August 3, 2022.

“Officers were present, along with the Kent Fire and Rescue Service, and the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The death will not be treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”

Forrest Amusements, which operates the fair, say they will release a statement regarding the death at a later date.
