The top seven candidates for the cast of this year’s most popular dance reality show have been announced
Tyler West has been named as the seventh celebrity dance contestant to participate in this year’s edition of Be sure to come dance.
The swimmer joins actors Kym Marsh, Will Mellor and Jayde Adams, as well as TV presenters Richie Anderson and Kaye Adams and Paralympic swimmer Ellie Simmonds.
Anderson will be part of an all-male partnership in the upcoming series on the BBC.
The show, in which professional dancers teach famous faces how to perform a variety of Latin and ballroom dances, is set to return BBC One in September, and this year’s series will be the 20th.

Who is Tyler West?
Tyler West is a television presenter, radio host and DJ.
He is best known for hosting weekday afternoons on KISS, for which he was nominated for a prestigious ARIA for Best New Presenter in 2020.
He began his broadcasting career on children’s television and presented various programs on CBBC.
He hosted MTV News, HQ Trivia and the 2020 EE BAFTA Awards Red Carpet Live Show.
In 2021 he launched his first BBC Three series, co-hosted Flat out Fabulous and became the presenter of the MTV Movie Show.

West said he can’t wait to get on the famous dance floor.

Who is Ellie Simmonds?
Ellie Simmonds, 27, is a Team GB para-swimming legend.
A five-time Paralympic champion who rose to fame as a 13-year-old at the 2008 Beijing Games, Simmonds has been a pundit for the BBC since retiring after the Tokyo Paralympics in 2021.
She was last seen analyzing swimming at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Simmonds became the youngest-ever MBE aged just 14 after her Beijing triumph and has since been named an OBE.
She has also presented non-sports documentaries for the network, including Ellie Simmonds: A World Without Dwarfism?.
What did Ellie Simmonds say about Strictly?
After being unmasked as the newest contestant on social media, Ellie Simmonds took to Twitter to offer her reaction.
“Oh my god! I’m bursting with excitement! It was sooo hard to keep this secret like I wanted to tell everyone. I’m going to do Strictly Come Dancing!” she wrote.
“I’m a little nervous too, more than a little… I’m absolutely petrified! Being asked to join the Strictly family is just so exciting and I can’t wait, it’s going to be so much fun.
“I’m counting the minutes until it starts; Learn to dance, meet my partner and everyone else involved in the show. Plus wearing the sequins and all, it’s gonna be a blast.
“I’ve been watching Strictly for as long as I can remember; It is a traditional foretaste of Christmas with my family and a real privilege to be a part of.”
Who is Jayde Adams?
Jayde Adams, unrelated to Kaye Adams, is a comedian.
The 37-year-old Bristolian has appeared on several comedy panel shows including 8 Out of 10 Cats and has also appeared in several television roles including the recent adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s novel Good Omens.
Adams also hosted the Netflix and Channel 4 cooking show Crazy Delicious with Heston Blumenthal in 2020.
She was previously an Adele impersonator and was part of the famous Graham Norton prank in which Adele appeared alongside several impersonators.
Jayde Adams is currently performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Comedy Festival where she has won several awards.

In a statement, Jayde Adams said: “I can’t begin to express the feelings I’m feeling. It means so much to me and my family.”
Describing herself as a “huge fan” of the show, she added, “I’ve always watched it, apart from a brief hiatus in 2011, when I was performing tirelessly (to try to get by strictly) every weekend.
“I feel like I’m watching myself in a dream and I can’t believe I manifested this. Capturing that was torture for me!”
Who is Kaye Adams?
Kaye Adams is a Scottish television presenter, best known as a panelist and one of the main presenters on ITV’s lunchtime talk show Loose Women.
Adams hosted the show from 1999 to 2006, and then she left to become a regular panellist on Channel 5’s daily morning show, called The Wright Stuff from 2007 to 2012 (now Jeremy Vine on 5).
Adams then returned to Loose Women in 2013.
She presents the morning show on BBC Radio Scotland weekdays from 9am to 12pm.
Kaye announced her participation in the show herself live on Friday’s edition of Loose Women (Aug. 5). The news not only came as a surprise to viewers, but also to Adams’ panelists.

In her announcement on Loose Women, Adams admitted she has “two left feet” but said she’s excited to join the cast of this year’s show despite being “scared.”
She said, “I can’t make a fool of myself much (more) than I am.”
She added: “I’ll be 60 at the end of this year and I think why not. I’m a really competitive person, but I’m not in that regard. If I enjoy it, I’m happy.”
Who is Richie Anderson?
Richie Anderson is a television and radio personality and a regular on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, where he presents the travel bulletins, and has also hosted a variety of programs himself.
He was also a regular presenter on The One Show and featured in BBC One’s Platinum Jubilee coverage this year.
The news that he will be part of the Strictly cast was announced during the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on Friday (August 5).
What did Richie Anderson say about Strictly?
Anderson said he had to cancel his annual Strictly launch party because he was waiting in the studio to perform.
He said, “This is a dream come true! I can’t wait to get into that glitter and sequins and dance across the world’s most famous dance floor. Strictly is the ultimate feel-good show – once I hear that iconic theme tune, it’s just pure escape.
“I have to cancel my legendary Strictly Launch Night Kitchen party that I throw every year. I’m sure my friends and family will understand.
“It’s also a great honor to be part of an all-male dance partnership – it’s so important that we have this involvement in such a big show.”
Who is Kym Marsh?
Kym Marsh is an actress, television presenter and singer, best known for her role as Michelle Connor on the ITV soap Coronation Street (2006 to 2019).
She first came to public attention in 2000 when she auditioned for the reality TV show Popstars. Marsh was one of five singers selected as the show’s winners and formed the pop band Hear’Say.
The band’s first single, Pure and Simple, went to number one, but Marsh left the band in 2002.
As well as taking on a long-running role on Coronation Street, Marsh has also appeared on the BBC soap Doctors and also on the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks: In the City.

Kym Marsh is married to Army Major Scott Ratcliff.
Her full legal name is Kimberley Gail Ratcliff, but she still uses her maiden name Marsh professionally.

Will Mellor, also 46, is an actor and singer.
He is known for his roles as James “Jambo” Bolton in Hollyoaks (1995 to 1998), Gaz Wilkinson in Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps (2001 to 2011) and Steve Connolly in Broadchurch (2013).
In 2021 he appeared as Harvey Gaskell on the ITV soap Coronation Street.
Alongside his acting career, Will reached number 5 on the UK Singles Chart in 1998 with “When I Need You”.
He recently toured the UK with a live version of the popular podcast, which he co-hosts with Ralf Little, actor of Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, Two Pints with Will and Ralf.
Who is Will Mellor’s wife?
Mellor has been married to wife Michelle McSween for 15 years.
Mellor met dancer McSween while they performed together in the 1999 stage musical Oh, What a Night.
