The BBC drama series follows a team of forensic pathologists as they use their expertise to investigate grizzly crimes.

Who stars in season 25 of Silent Witness?

Emilia Fox, who has been on the show since Season 8, is back as Nikki Alexander, one of the leading medical examiners.

Fox is known for playing Morgause in the fantasy series Merlin and as Valerie Profumo in the drama series The Trial of Christine Keeler.

Amanda Burton will also return as Sam Ryan, the head of the original forensics team, after an 18-year absence from the show.

Since leaving the show in 2004, Burton has starred in the school series Waterloo Road as Karen Fisher, in the crime series White House Farm as June Bamber, and in the crime series Marcells as Katherine Maguire.

David Caves, a series regular since season 16, will reprise his role as Jack Hodgson, a forensic scientist and cage fighter.

Caves’ other roles include the role of agent Clint Hill in the biopic Jackie, Michael in the crime series 15 Days and Joe in the drama film Widow’s Walk.

Genesis Lynea will also return as Simone Tyler, a forensic ecologist introduced in the previous season.

Lynea is known for her roles as Archie Hudson in the medical drama Casualty and Geraldine in the fantasy drama series A Discovery of Witches.

Where is the original cast of Silent Witness now?

Many regulars of the series have left the show over its 25 years of existence, but they have not left our screens and have appeared in dozens of popular TV shows and films.

Sam Parks played Sam Ryan’s silent assistant Fred Dale on the show before leaving after season three.

Since leaving Silent Witness, Parks has landed small roles in London’s Burning, The Bill, Taboo and The Crown.

He also had supporting roles in the films Les Misérables and Last Night in Soho.

Liz Carr joined the cast in 2013 as the sarcastic forensic investigator Clarissa Mullery and appeared in 79 episodes before leaving the show in 2020.

Since she left, Carr has had small roles on the dark comedy medical series This is Going to Hurt and the TV movie Then Barbara Met Alan.

She also plays Saraqael in the fantasy comedy series Good Omens alongside David Tenant and Michael Sheen.

Liz Carr was on the show from 2013 to 2020

Tom Ward appeared on Silent Witness from 2002 to 2012, playing Harry Cunnigham, a forensic pathologist who started the series as a student before becoming a qualified doctor.

Ward’s other roles include Colonel Fitzwilliam on the drama series Death Comes to Pemberly and Sir Robert Peel on The Frankenstein Chronicles.

Ruth Gemmell appeared as Kerry Cox in the show’s first season but was killed – she appeared twice more on the show in 2006 as DI Beth Ashdown and in 2014 as Ellie Brooke.

Gemmell has acted in several popular shows, playing Jen in the drama series Utopia, Octavia Putney in Penny Dreadful and Lady Violet Bridgerton in Bridgerton.

When is Silent Witness season 25 on TV?

Season 25 of Silent Witness will air on BBC One on May 23 at 9pm and the second episode will air at the same time on May 24.

Episode three will air on May 30th and episode four on May 31st.

Episode five will air June 6th and episode six, the final episode of the series, will air June 7th.
