Quentin Tarantino has praised Top Gun: Maverick for offering a “true cinematic spectacle.”

The director shared his thoughts on the film with Pulp Fiction co-writer Roger Avary ReelBlend Podcast.

“I don’t usually talk about new movies that much because I’m just forced to say only good things, but in this case I love Top Gun: Maverick,” Tarantino said.

“I thought it was fantastic. I saw it in the theatre. This and [Steven] Spielberg’s West Side Story both offered true cinematic extravagance, the kind I almost thought I wouldn’t see again. It was fantastic.”
