Kishore Das, an Assamese actor, died at the age of 31. He reportedly breathed his last on Sunday, July 3, 2022. Several Assam actors and politicians took to Twitter to mourn the actor’s untimely death and expressed their condolences to his family. Taking to Twitter, Ranjeet Kumar Dass wrote that he was “devastated to hear the celebrity actor’s news” and called his death a tragic loss. Political parties such as the BJP and Congress also paid tribute to the late actor. Questions such as the cause of Kishore Das’s death and how he died have flooded social media. The actor reportedly battled cancer for a long time. He was rushed to a hospital in Chennai where he has been treated since March this year. As well as battling cancer, Kishore Das was also infected with Covid disease at the time of his death. It was a really long fight, but despite all the best possible treatment, the actor couldn’t beat it and succumbed to the disease.
The entire entertainment industry in Assam is stunned to learn of the young actor’s sudden death. It has been announced that Kishore’s last rites will be held in Chennai on Saturday night. Due to Covid protocols, his remains could not be transported to his hometown and will therefore only occur in Chennai. Kishore was a popular face in Assam. He has appeared in more than 300 music videos.
Das gained popularity through his appearances on hit Assamese television shows including Nedekha Fagun, Bidhata and Bandhun. These shows were reportedly aired on local entertainment networks. The was from Assam and mainly worked in the Assamese entertainment industry. The 31-year-old actor was known for his song titled “Turut Turut” in Assamese. It had become one of the super hits in the language. Kishore Das was last seen in the Assamese film Dada Tumi Dusto Bor.
He also received the 2019 Candid Young Achievement Award and the Asianet Icon Award for Favorite Actor 2020-2021. He had a huge following on social media and loved interacting with his fans. His loved ones and fans have flooded the internet with posts and messages. Reports say that Assam Prime Minister Himanta Biswas communicated with the Tamil Nadu government to make arrangements to send Kishore’s body to Assam but due to restrictions this could not happen.
