The 41-year-old reality TV star has been at the center of a blistering internet firestorm for the past few days. As we’ve reported, collectors and fashion historians erupted when they discovered Kim had allegedly harmed her Marilyn Monroeis iconic, John F Kennedy Birthday dress after wearing it on the red carpet in 2022 Met Gala.
It seems so many were appalled by this Egotistical the author’s alleged influence on the historical dress Marilyn first wore to sing Happy birthday, Mr. President to JFK six decades ago. The people of Ripley believe it or not! own the dress and loaned it to Kim – under reportedly very strict rules – to wear to the Met Gala red carpet last month.
But things didn’t go as planned at all, prominent historians and Monroe aficionados claim. Now the aftermath of Kim’s iconic fashion moment has been overshadowed by allegations that she damaged the dress beyond repair. Fashion experts in particular are concerned about Kim’s use, which is said to result in torn areas around the dress’s zipper, along with several missing and otherwise damaged crystals torn from the fabric.

Now, Scott Fortner of Marilyn Monroe Collection has returned to his must-follow Instagram account to share even MORE alleged details about what the Keeping up with the Kardashians Alum reportedly did it to Marilyn’s dress. In a series of IG Stories posts and re-shares that began Tuesday afternoon and continued into the evening, Fortner revealed new details of those not yet reported New Damage to the legendary piece’s right shoulder strap.
Fortner has criticized the Met Gala usage in a series of posts, claiming that the dress’s right shoulder strap is “now completely torn.” He also shared visual evidence that seemed to support his claim (below):
And unfortunately, it seems like the troubles don’t stop there!
Another angle of other footage appears to show more tears on the strap of the dress after Kim’s red carpet moment in early May, as well as a pin fully tying another part of the arm strap together.

Even then, the expert wasn’t finished.
Fortner unearthed six-year-old footage that appeared to show the dress’s bottom hem in far better shape than it allegedly was in 2016, after it was returned to Ripley’s after Kim’s use:

And it all comes on top of the previous controversy earlier this week, which saw Kim already in the proverbial hot seat for allegedly damaging the dress.
