The actor’s recent legal troubles come just over four years after he was stripped of his starring role house of cards after allegations of sexual assault and misconduct against him surfaced.

2017 actor Anton Rapp accused the older actor of being sexually inappropriate with him when he was 14. Hours after the story was published by Buzzfeed News in October, Spacey shared a statement on his social media in response.

“I am beyond horrified to hear his story,” he wrote at the time. “I honestly can’t remember the encounter as it would have been over 30 years ago. But then if I had behaved as he describes, I owe him a sincere apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior and I am sorry for the feelings he has described for making him all the carried around with me for years.”

The following year, 2018, Spacey faced charges of indecent assault and assault, to which he pleaded not guilty. The charges were later dropped due to the “unavailability of the complaining witness,” according to court filings obtained by E! news back then.
