The videos, which were filmed unbeknownst to Spears, are from when her sons were 11 and 12 years old
Federline shared the videos, which were filmed unbeknownst to Spears when her sons were 11 and 12.
There was outrage over footage showing a family quarrel.
Federline, who is set to appear in an upcoming ITV interview, explained: “As much as it pains us, we have made the decision as a family to release these videos”.
Earlier this week, Spears challenged Federline’s “hurtful” comments about her relationship with her sons.
Here’s everything you need to know about what Kevin Federline posted on Instagram.
What did Kevin Federline say?
Federline hit back at Spears by posting three videos on his Instagram account showing scenes between Spears and her sons.
The videos, shot without the singer’s knowledge, show a family feud with Spears yelling at her children.
Federline shared them after Spears made comments on his upcoming ITV documentary.
The clips were taken when the boys were about 11 or 12 years old.
Federline’s decision to post the videos on social media was met with outrage.
After 2 p.m. on August 11, Spears’ ex-husband apparently responded to the backlash by taking down the three videos.
Why did he post the videos on Instagram?
In his caption, Federline explained he shared the videos because “the lies need to stop.”
The three videos show arguments between Spears and her then 11- and 12-year-old sons.
In one filmed at Spears’ house, the star is heard saying, “This is my house. If I want to come in here and give you lotion for your face because it’s rough… you guys better start respecting me, okay?
“You all have to start treating me like a woman of worth, I’m a woman, okay, be nice to me, you know?”
The other two videos show an argument between Spears and her eldest son, who wouldn’t put his shoes on at the ice cream shop.
Spears said: “Have you lost your damn mind? Have you lost your fucking mind?” and took her son’s phone away as punishment for not listening to her.
The full caption for Federline’s video reads: “I cannot sit back and allow my sons to be blamed in this way after what they have been through. As much as it pains us, as a family we decided to release these videos that the boys recorded when they were 11 and 12 years old. That’s not even the worst of it. The lies have to stop. I hope our kids get better than that.”
However, it appears that Federline has since removed the videos from his social media account.
what did britney say
Earlier this week, Spears called Federline about “hurting” comments about her sons on his upcoming ITV documentary.
The star said: “It saddens me to hear that my ex-husband has decided to discuss the relationship between me and my children… As we all know, raising teenagers is never easy for anyone.
“It concerns me that the reason is based on my Instagram… It was LONG before Instagram… I gave them my all… Just one word: HURTFUL.
“During my time as a conservator, I was controlled and monitored for almost 15 years. I should start doing more WAAAY than lying topless on the beach like a baby.
“Reminder that the trauma and insults that come with fame and this business doesn’t just affect me it affects my kids too!!!! … I’m only human and I’ve done my best.”
Spears also posted a cryptic message next to a chessboard an hour before Federline shared the videos on Instagram.
In it, she said: “I was so so so so sure mum!!! Finding that out is thin.
“IT’S LONG TIME FOR ME !!! Is it kinda cool out here???”
“The famous game of chess goes like this…”
“F**K YOU YOU CAN’T DO THIS”
How did the fans react?
Fan reaction was quick, with many calling out Federline’s actions and his teenage sons’ involvement.
One fan @moneylisaney81 said on Twitter: “Anyone with eyes can see that Britney Spears is an amazing mom. She completed a 13-year conservatory just to be able to see her sons. While Kevin Federline was just using her as leverage to get money from Britney. #JusticeForBritney”
While another Twitter account @ashallann said: “Dear Kevin Federline. They released a “devastating” video of a mother being a mother. Sometimes mothers have – panting – reactions. They might discipline by taking things away or asking for respect. This is shocking, but sometimes mothers fight with their children. #Britney Spears”
And another Twitter user @jrdn_page said: “Don’t feel embarrassed about Kevin Federline”
Fans have also reacted to Federline removing the videos.
Twitter account user @saltyunicorn96 said: “Naaa why has Kevin Federline deleted his videos from Instagram now? Didn’t it go the way you planned? Has the internet shown you what a piece of shit you are?”
