He faced heavy backlash for the post, with a comment that read, “Instead of using the homeless as inspiration for design, you should help them get out of homelessness”.

Another commenter said, “Sounds like exploitation of the powerless,” with another saying, “Ah yeah, nothing inspires my fashion choices quite like a starving homeless man sleeping on the street.”

The 45-year-old, who now goes by the username Ye on Instagram, first launched the Yeezy brand in 2015.

At that time, West partnered with Adidas to release his own line of Adidas Yeezy sneakers.

The brand has grown over the past seven years, with Kanye West presenting a number of collections at New York Fashion Week.

West released a highly anticipated collection featuring GAP earlier this year alongside Balenciaga Creative Director Demna Gvasalia.

The collection has been described as “timeless silhouettes translated through the lens of Ye and Demna’s shared vision of purposeful design”.

The collection of just eight items included the redesigned classic GAP logo sweatshirt in smoky grey, unisex jogging pants and t-shirts, which were much-anticipated by West’s fans.

However, fans are now divided after hearing the rapper’s true inspiration behind his collections.

The post comes just days after he deleted a post “mourning” comedian Pete Davidson’s fake death following his split from West’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian.

Kanye West posted a fake New York Times front page to his Instagram that read, “Skete Davidson dead at 28.”

After the post was uploaded to Kanye’s social media, Kim Kardashian was reportedly “angry” at her ex-husband for making fun of their recent breakup.

The reality TV star reportedly “tried to get Kanye to take it down” while also staunchly defending her ex-boyfriend.

This isn’t the first time Kardashian has publicly had tough words with West on social media.

Kanye West recently shared a post claiming Kim doesn’t let him see her kids, and Kim commented on the post, saying, “Please stop this narrative, you were only here this morning to take the kids to the… to pick up from school.”

Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from West in February 2021 and they have continued to co-parent their four children — North, nine, Saint, six, Chicago, four, and Psalm, two.
