Along with announcing that new music is on the way “very soon,” Smollett shared a message with his supporters, who have stood by him throughout his legal drama.

“I’m just telling them from the bottom of my heart, thank you,” he told the outlet. “You never wavered. You never jumped the fence and I’m forever grateful for that. I don’t take this lightly.”

He continued, “My family, my friends, the true ones, supporters, it’s just, you know … If I never get to hug you in person, you just know there’s a hug in my heart that I really, really mean.” .”

Back in March, Smollett was sentenced to 150 days in prison plus 30 months probation for filing a false police report after telling investigators he was the victim of an alleged hate crime in 2019. After his attorney appealed his conviction, Smollett was released from prison just six days into his sentence.
