A Virginia jury awarded Depp $15 million in damages, although the judge presiding over the case later reduced the punitive damages to the state’s legal limit of $350,000, bringing the total damages awarded to nearly 10.4 million US dollars. Heard, who previously filed a $100 million counterclaim against Depp over an alleged “online defamation campaign,” was awarded $2 million in damages.

Heard’s attorney, Elaine Charlson BredehöftShe recently said that her client “absolutely” intends to appeal the jury’s verdict.

“She has excellent reasons for doing so,” said Bredehoft today on June 2nd. “There was so much evidence that didn’t come in.”
