Jodie Sweetin speaks out after being pushed at an abortion rights protest

Thousands of Americans took to the streets last weekend to protest the overturning of the Roe v. Wade through the Supreme Court to protest, including an actress Jodie Sweetinwho was pushed to the ground by an officer from the Los Angeles Police Department.

The argument was recorded a video, shared on social media and has since gone viral. As such, Jodie addressed the incident when she told E! News’ Daily pop on June 27th.

“I was walking and one of the officers just grabbed my bag and threw me forward,” she recalled, insisting she wasn’t hurt thanks to the help of her friends. “We took care of the situation. We didn’t use that as an excuse to move on, we just continued our march and we were probably four or five more hours out there marching downtown.”

Jodie added that she has no plans to press charges. And while the video might be shocking to watch, this Full house Alum wants people to direct their anger or concern to the issue at hand. “Above all, I want to not do this about myself,” she said, “and continue to bring the focus back to women’s rights and also to police brutality. I’ve spent a lot of time protesting on the streets and that is a very small incident of police brutality.
