After almost 20 years at the helm, the presenter has announced she is stepping down from her roles on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio London

transmitter and TV Personality Vanessa Feltz announced her departure early in the morning radio show on BBC Radio 2 and the breakfast show on BBC radio London.

Feltz is one of the BBC’s top earners – she was revealed with her as one of just three women in the top 10 highest paid on-air talent, according to recently released BBC figures Salary from £400,000 to £404,999 brought her to eighth place. Zoe Ball and Fiona Bruce were the other two female hosts to make the top 10 list.

Is Vanessa Feltz leaving both of her radio shows?

Feltz has confirmed she will be leaving both her radio shows on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio London, telling listeners she’s loved “every moment” of her early morning programs but is stepping down to catch up on a “decade deficit of beauty sleep.” .

In a statement, Feltz said: “I have loved every moment with my Radio 2 ‘Early Birds’ and will miss my Lovely Listeners, Jolly Good Fellows and beloved friends and colleagues at Radio 2 with all my heart.

“However, after nearly 12 blissful years, I must now step down to make up a decade’s much-needed beauty sleep deficit.

“It has been an honor and privilege to be the Breakfast Voice of BBC Radio London for 20 years and although I am leaving the show I still expect hugs from my dear listeners when I see them on the streets of London. ”

She added, “I’ll be enjoying a dollop of energizing sleep, swinging off zip lines with my three bubbly grandchildren, and frolicking with my fiancé Ben, who annoyingly remains 10 years younger than me.”

When is your last show?

Feltz will be hosting her very last morning show on Radio 2 on Friday and after a two week break she will be covering Jeremy Vine’s show for a further two weeks starting August 15th.

Her last day as a cover band for Vine on August 26 marks her last day on BBC Radio 2 as well as her last show on BBC Radio London.

Feltz started presenting the Radio 2 Early Breakfast Show in January 2011 from 5:00-6:30 a.m., which was extended to 4:00 a.m. from January 2021.

In addition to daily news, their shows also included features such as Famous Last Words, Jolly Good Fellows, The Feltz Philological Challenge and Early Bird Earworms.

After graduating with honors in English from Trinity College, Cambridge, she became the first female columnist for The Jewish Chronicle before joining the Daily Mirror.

Feltz and his fiancé Ben Ofoedu attended the Channel 4 show wife swap, where they switched partners with magician Paul Daniels and his wife Debbie McGee.

She returned to the Big Brother house to perform in 2010 Ultimate big brotherbut was eventually expelled two days before the finals.
