The tournament was first held in 2010 and has been won four times each by England and the Netherlands, twice by Scotland and once by Wales.

The Scottish team, made up of world champion Peter Wright and partner John Henderson, are the defending champions but are expected to face tough competition if they are to retain the trophy.

Where will the PDC World Cup of Darts 2022 take place?

The Eissporthalle am Ratsweg in Frankfurt am Main will be the venue for the World Cup of Darts 2022.

The arena will host the event for the fifth time, having previously been a regular venue from 2015-2018.

The competition is taking place in Germany for the tenth time.

When will the PDC World Cup of Darts 2022 take place?

The event starts on Thursday 16th June and will be played over four days until Sunday 19th June.

It is a 64-team single-elimination tournament in which first-round matches are played as best-of-nine legs, while second-round, quarterfinals, and semifinals matches are played over three sets.

In the three-set format, one member of each team meets another, followed by a doubles final (if necessary).

The final is played over five sets, in which individual players take on both players of the opposing team before a doubles match is decided (if necessary).

What channel is the PDC World Cup of Darts 2022 on?

Sky Sports will broadcast the competition, with coverage beginning Thursday from 18:00 BST on Sky Sports Action (Sky channel 407).

Coverage will resume on Friday at 6pm on the same channel, while there will be afternoon and evening sessions on Saturday and Sunday.

Afternoon sessions start at 12pm on both days and evening sessions start at 6pm.
