When are the public holidays in 2022?
The next public holidays are in May, June and August, two more in December.
Thursday 2nd June and Friday 3rd June are public holidays – if you take the three days before May 30th to June 1st you have nine consecutive days off.
There are six more holidays in the calendar for 2022:
- 2 May (early May bank holiday)
- 2 June (Spring Holiday)
- 3 June (Platinum Anniversary Bank Holiday)
- August 29 (summer holiday)
- 26 December (Boxing Day)
- 27 December (Christmas Substitute)
When is the best time to book annual leave?
If you can book from 25th to 29th April you will receive in the end 10 days in one go by taking just five days of your annual leave.
If you take vacation on May 30th and 31st and June 1st, you are unable to work for nine days but only use three of your vacation pay.
Employees booking time off from August 30th to September 2nd will receive a nine days also break.
Christmas falls on a Sunday, so the public holidays this year are Monday 26th December and Tuesday 27th December.
If you book between December 28th and 30th you will get a discount 10 days off in a row from December 24 – January 2, 2023.
These days will be very popular annual vacation days with your colleagues, so it is important to remember that you will have some competition in choosing these days.
