The illusion left viewers scratching their heads as some struggled to make out the two faces
can you see the young woman
Prompting viewers to identify both faces in the image, Mr Jackson points to the image and says, “An old man in a sombrero. But can you see the young woman on the right?
“If yes, please write ‘step one’ in the comments.”
Some viewers were able to recognize the young woman on the first try, but many were confused by the image and couldn’t see the second face.
Offering help to those affected, Mr Jackson added: “I’ve tried to simplify it a bit. If you can’t see them in step one, let’s try this.
“Let’s paint her face and neck pink. Can you see the woman on the right now? If yes, please write ‘step two’ in the comments.”
The tips helped several viewers pick the woman, although some said they still found it difficult.
Mr Jackson offered further help, then dyed the young woman’s hair gold and asked users to comment “step three” if they spotted her. He then dyed the top of her costume green and urged viewers to comment “step four” if it helped pick them.
The colors seemed to help many viewers, with users commenting that they could finally choose them.
One user wrote: “Step 4 but it took a long time!”
Another added: “God this took forever and I keep losing it!!! I can only see them when I squint.”
“The second time I checked after the last step,” added a third.
Despite the many tips, a large majority of users stated that they still could not see the young woman’s face at all and wrote “What woman” in the comments in frustration.
One user said, “I can’t see it at all, we need to step five and six!”
“I have no idea…I can’t see it,” said another.
A third wrote: “What woman what woman squinting ooooooh I see oooh I know she’s there where’s she gone.”
“What woman?!!!” added a fourth.
how many faces do you see
In one video, he shows viewers an image of a sad-looking man, but asks users if they can see an angry-looking man’s face in the same image.
For those who can’t see the angry face, it’s recommended to cover part of the image with your finger – on the nose, just below one of the eyes – to get a better look at it.
However, Mr Jackson claims that only 1% of viewers can successfully select the second man.
