In the film, basketball protégé Troy Bolton and chemistry genius Gabriella Montez take part in a school musical together and develop a strong romance.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series

In the first season, the school put on a stage production based on the High School Musical films, and in the second season, they took on Beauty and the Beast.

The series has retained the cheesy charm of the TV-movie-style films while breathing new life into the franchise for new audiences.

What is Season 3 of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series about?

Season 3 takes place after the events of Season 2 as East High students prepare for their summer vacation.

Students spend two weeks at Camp Shallow Lake, a summer camp for East High drama kids.

But it won’t be all campfires, star gazing and romance as the campers will be tasked with putting on a high stakes music production of the Disney film Frozen.

At the same time, a camera crew will be at the camp to make behind-the-scenes documentaries about the group.

Who is in the cast of High School Musical Season 3?

Olivia Rodrigo will return as Nini, although season three will mark her final appearance on the show.

Rodrigo made a name for herself after the series, but rose to fame as a singer, releasing the hit singles “Driver’s License” and “Good 4 U,” as well as her debut album, “Sour.”

Due to her newfound fame, Rodrigo is leaving the Disney show and will have less of a presence in season three.
