EastEnders’ Natalie Cassidy regrets her £100,000 weight loss DVD

Actress Natalie Cassidy lost four pounds in four months but put it back on in just eight weeks.

Natalie Cassidy has spoken about a weight loss DVD she made in 2007. The soap actress was paid a massive £100,000 to film the workout regimen, which claimed contestants could lose two and a half stone if they complete the regime.

Natalie is known for playing Sonia Fowler at EastEnders, which she started in 1993.

She spoke about the DVD entitledNatalie Cassidy’s Then and Now” on the Grace Dent Podcast.

Natalie said: “I was very overweight and they came up to me and said listen, we’ll give you £100,000, we’ll get you really fit and you’re going to lose four stones.

Natalie has said she regrets making the weight loss DVD.

“I was like happy days, let’s do it. I just thought that’s a lot of money; but it wasn’t the right thing.

“It wasn’t that — you lose a lot of weight over a three or four month period, 12 or 16 weeks, low calories and exercise every day.

“I got there and as soon as that DVD came out, I ate for England. I put all the weight back on in eight weeks.”

Natalie released another fitness DVD titled The perfect ten In 2013.

Natalie is best known for her role as Sonia Fowler on the popular BBC soap opera EastEnders.

She began the role in 1993 and was a continuous character until 2006, when she went on hiatus.

Natalie returned to the show in 2010 for a few guest appearances and returned permanently in 2014.

Natalie spoke to The mirror about her experience as a child actress: “At 10 I didn’t really know.

“I walked in and knew it was a show on TV.

“It was just a nice place to come home from school. I used to come along and talk to everyone.”
