The comedian’s comments about the outgoing prime minister led to 11 complaints to OFCOM

Channel 4 was unblocked by regulator OFCOM after complaints about Frankie Boyle jibing at outgoing Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Last month, the Scottish comedian appeared on The Last Leg, where he said he hopes the Prime Minister will be “pulled screaming to hell”.

Boyle was responding to the quote Boris Johnson said as he finished his final questions from the Prime Minister.

Frankie Boyle’s comments resulted in OFCOM receiving 11 complaints, but the regulator said it had “raised no issues warranting an investigation”.

During the live broadcast, host Adam Hills later reminded the audience that the show “wished Boris Johnson no ill.”

In response, Frankie Boyle said, “You ended with a quote from The Terminator … I hope a hole opens up in the ground and screaming clawed hands drag you to hell.”

Later in the program, Boyle also spoke about the last two candidates in the Conservative Leadership campaign.

Expressing his views, he said: “We’re going to have the next prime minister elected by a very small group of elderly people during a heatwave and it’s going to be either Rishi Sunak, a guy whose biggest wish in life is to p**** thatcher’s ghost or liz truss who would be the first prime minister to forget to breathe and just die.”
