A new season of the animated comedy series follows the success of the film Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe, which was released in June

A new season of the American adult animated series Beavis and Butt-Head comes to the streaming service Paramount Plus more than a decade after the eighth season’s release.

Beavis and Butt-Head first aired in 1993 and follows two heavy metal obsessed teenagers doing stupid things out of boredom. The pair have a narrow view of the world – everything is either “cool” or “crappy,” and Beavis happens to be obsessed with fire.

The series was marred by controversy as soon as it aired when a mother accused the show of teaching her son about fire after he burned down her trailer, resulting in the death of her young daughter.

Despite the fact that it was later revealed that the child hadn’t seen the show before the tragedy, controversy had already swirled, but that couldn’t stop the show’s runaway success.

The show’s first seven seasons aired on MTV between 1993 and 1997. The eighth season came in 2011 and now, almost 30 years after the show began, she’s back for the ninth season.

The ninth season showcases the trappings of modern life that weren’t there when the characters were first created.

In the second episode, the pair will be trapped again, this time in a cardboard box, before attempting to harvest honey from a wasps’ nest.
