TheWrap reported that Warner Bros felt so bat girl “just didn’t work” and that it went against CEO David Zaslav’s desire for DC films to be “big theatrical event films.”

A spokesman for Warner Bros said: “The decision not to publish bat girl reflects the strategic shift in our leadership in relation to the DC Universe and HBO Max.

“Leslie Grace is an incredibly talented actress and this decision does not reflect her achievement.

“We are incredibly grateful to the filmmakers of bat girl and Schoob! holiday destination and their respective casts and we hope to work with all of them again in the near future.”

The decision to put aside altogether bat girl is unusual considering the cast for the film was quite high quality.

In conversation with diversitySaid Grace, “It was an incredible learning experience to be on set with action veterans like Brendan Fraser and soak it all up.

“It was so hard because he’s our villain and I shouldn’t like him, but he’s such a giant teddy bear.

“We’ve already talked about where we’re going to take that from here because there’s so much going on in this movie.”
